Privacy Policy

1. What Snap for Harvest does

Snap for Harvest is a Chrome browser extension that adds a time-tracking overlay to websites you visit, allowing you to log time to your Harvest account without leaving your current page. It works with Google Calendar, Notion, and any custom site you choose to add.

2. Data we store

The extension stores only the following preferences using Chrome's built-in sync storage (tied to your Google account, not our servers):

• Which default sites have the Snap overlay enabled (e.g. Google Calendar, Notion)
• Any custom website URLs you've added through the options page
• The last position of the Snap overlay button on screen

This data never leaves your device to any server we operate. Chrome may sync this data across your own devices if you have Chrome sync enabled — that is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

3. Harvest API access

Snap for Harvest interacts directly with the Harvest time tracking service on your behalf. Any time entries you create or stop through the extension are sent directly to Harvest's API using the credentials managed by Harvest's own authentication system.

We do not store, read, or have access to your Harvest credentials, account data, or time entry history. All of that is governed by Harvest's Privacy Policy.

4. Browser permissions explained

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage — to save your site preferences locally in Chrome
• scripting — to inject the Snap overlay UI onto the pages you've enabled
• tabs — to detect when you navigate to an enabled site and show/hide the overlay
• contextMenus — to add a right-click option for quickly adding the current site to Snap
• webRequest — to detect when a Harvest timer stops (via Harvest's API) so the overlay can update in real time
• host permissions (all URLs) — required to inject the overlay on any site you've added, including custom ones

None of these permissions are used to read, collect, or transmit your browsing data.

5. Third-party services

The extension communicates only with Harvest's API (api.harvestapp.com) on your behalf, and only when you trigger an action like starting or stopping a timer. No other third-party services, analytics tools, or tracking scripts are included.

6. Changes to this policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
